However, revenues from subscriptions and newsstand sales only cover a small portion of The Fiddlehead’s expenses. We depend on grants and private donations to make ends meet. In the face of funding cutbacks we are dedicated to maintaining our high author compensation rates and our exceptional production standards, and to keeping our hard-working staff employed and adequately paid. Without your involvement, the rich forum we have built, in which authors, readers, and editors alike can grow and develop, would cease to exist. Now you have an opportunity to sustain and cultivate the literary ecology of which you are a part.

Every donation, large and small, helps us foster our literary community at a time when many little magazines are struggling to stay afloat.
